Mobilizing Youth for a Green Pakistan

YPDC, Pak Saaf Pakistan and COMSATS University Islamabad convened an event focused on a Green and Sustainable Pakistan, drawing passionate youth, environmentalists and changemakers from around the country to discuss practical steps for climate action.

M Umair Mufakir, CEO of NYCCC, joined as the chief guest speaker and emphasized the critical role of youth engagement in national climate strategies. He highlighted climate leadership as essential for sustainable development and urged young people to take active roles in local initiatives that contribute to a Green Pakistan.

Climate activist Fatima Faraz Hoti shared her perspectives on empowering young Pakistanis to translate concern into measurable environmental action. Her talk focused on grassroots mobilization, community projects and the importance of building networks between universities, civil society and youth groups to sustain momentum.

The organisers underlined collaboration as the path forward, with YPDC crediting its team members Areej Nazakat, Mah Noor, Iqra Ameer, Ammar Tayyab and Hadia Khalid for coordinating the event alongside Pak Saaf Pakistan and COMSATS University Islamabad. Participants left with renewed commitment to local projects and a clear sense that coordinated youth leadership can drive progress toward a Green Pakistan.
