An intellectual session at the Rising Pakistan Movement central office in Gulberg Green marked Kashmir Solidarity Day, bringing the movement’s leadership together with representatives of civil society to express support for the Kashmiri struggle. Present were deputy chief organizer Rukhsanda Tasneem, secretary information Saima A. Bhatti, member Husna Khattak, Kashmiri leader Muhammad Bashir Raja and a large delegation of civil society members.
Speakers said the Kashmiri struggle since the creation of Pakistan has now entered a delicate and decisive phase that appears close to a positive outcome. The Rising Pakistan Movement reaffirmed it stands with the people of Kashmir at every step, stressing that Kashmir Solidarity requires attention to the feelings and aspirations of Kashmiri youth who face uncertainty and pressure. Leaders called for careful guidance that respects local sentiments and channels youth energy toward peaceful and constructive goals.
Muhammad Bashir Raja emphasized that the Kashmir issue cannot be resolved unless Kashmiri people are included in any decision-making about their future. He urged the United Nations and the international community to recognize that the right to self-determination is the true guarantor of peace, and warned against providing covert support to an occupying power at the expense of Kashmiris’ rights.
To honour the resilience and bravery of the Kashmiri people, the Rising Pakistan Movement and civil society participants observed two minutes of silence and reiterated their commitment to keep Kashmir Solidarity central to their advocacy, pressing for inclusive dialogue and international acknowledgment of Kashmiri voices in all relevant decisions.
