Chairman Punjab Higher Education Commission Prof. Dr. Iqrar Ahmad Khan met at PHEC with Mr. Sandeep Paul, Public Affairs Officer at the U.S. Consulate, and Mr. Jamal Ghazanfar, Senior Program Management Specialist, to discuss strengthening ties under the Punjab–California Sister State Agreement.
The discussion focused on leveraging the Punjab California partnership to expand academic cooperation, deepen research collaboration, and create more faculty and student exchange opportunities that benefit universities across Punjab.
Both parties highlighted the need to prioritise capacity building, innovation and institutional development, noting that coordinated efforts under the Sister State framework can accelerate quality improvements and international engagement in the province’s higher education sector.
PHEC reaffirmed its commitment to advancing international linkages and said it will continue dialogue with the U.S. Consulate to identify practical initiatives under the Punjab California agreement that support research partnerships, mobility and institutional capacity strengthening.
