Bannu Joins ‘One Million Trees’ Drive with Major Plantation at Central Jail

( The “One Million Trees” campaign has been launched from Central Jail Bannu. Around 550 fruit-bearing and shade-giving saplings have been planted.
In compliance with the directives of the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Suhail Afridi, and on the special instructions of Deputy Commissioner Bannu, Muhammad Faheem, the plantation drive was inaugurated at Central Jail Bannu on the occasion of March 23 by Additional Deputy Commissioner Finance and Planning Bannu, Yousaf Haroon, Special Assistant to the Chairman of the DEDC Committee, Hashmatullah Khan, and Chairman WSSC Sikandar Hayat.
On this occasion, officers from southern districts, Muhammad Sadiq, Divisional Forest Officer Inamullah Khan, Sub-Divisional Forest Officer Naumanullah Wazir, Deputy Superintendent Central Jail Bannu Najeeb Ahmed, Chairman Suhail Khan, and others were also present.
Speaking at the event, they stated that in accordance with the directives of the provincial government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, a target has been set to plant one million trees across the province on March 23, under which plantation activities are being carried out throughout the district.
They also appealed to the general public to take part in this noble cause by planting trees in suitable places so that everyone can actively contribute. They further urged citizens to upload videos and photos of their plantation efforts on the app launched by the provincial government so that their contributions are recorded and serve as a positive example for others.
