Gender Data Training Empowers Justice Sector Officials in ICT

A three-day training program focusing on gender data for inclusive and responsive planning was successfully conducted at the National Police Bureau, with support from the German Embassy in Pakistan. The workshop aimed to enhance the capacity of justice sector officials from Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) in utilizing gender data to inform effective decision-making and promote equality within the justice system.

During the training, participants received orientation on several key areas critical to gender data integration. These included conducting gap analysis to identify deficiencies in existing data processes, planning for comprehensive and accurate data collection, and performing ethics audits to ensure data handling adheres to strict ethical standards.

Officials were also trained on gender-responsive budgeting—a crucial component in allocating resources to address gender disparities. The program further guided attendees through the process of implementation planning, equipping them with practical strategies to apply their learning within their respective departments.

This initiative forms part of broader efforts by UN Women Pakistan and partners to advance gender equality and support justice for all, underlining the role of data in creating inclusive policies and responsive institutions.
