Showcasing Pakistani Cuisine on New York Stage

The Consulate General of Pakistan in New York took part in the International Food Festival 2025, organised by the Society of Foreign Consuls in New York and hosted at the Turkish House, presenting a vibrant showcase of Pakistani cuisine to an international audience.

The Pakistani offering featured a curated selection of traditional dishes, including Chicken Biryani, Seekh Kebab, Gajar Halwa and Kashmiri Chae (pink tea). Attendees praised the authentic presentation, rich flavours and carefully balanced spices, noting the warmth of Pakistani hospitality reflected through the food and service at the booth.

A large number of diplomats, officials from the City of New York, representatives of the United Nations and members of diverse communities attended the festival and enjoyed the Pakistani cuisine alongside cultural displays. The Pakistani stand consistently ranked among the most visited stations, drawing repeated compliments for its true-to-origin flavours and cultural storytelling through dishes.

Consulates from Argentina, Brazil, Georgia, Guatemala, Kazakhstan, Mexico, Malaysia, Nepal, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Serbia, Thailand, Türkiye and the United Arab Emirates also contributed national cuisines and cultural programmes, creating a lively environment for people-to-people exchange. Traditional music and on-site performances further amplified the spirit of cultural diplomacy and mutual appreciation.

The Consulate’s participation underlined Pakistan’s commitment to using cultural diplomacy and culinary exchange to strengthen ties with the international community in New York. By putting Pakistani cuisine at the centre of its outreach, the mission highlighted the country’s culinary diversity, hospitality and shared values of cooperation and harmony on the global stage.
