Boosting Reading Culture through Book Festival
Federal Minister for National Heritage and Culture Aurangzeb Khan Khichi addressed the National Book Foundation’s Book Festival, highlighting the event as a key effort to deepen public engagement with reading. He described promoting a friendship with books as a central scholarly and cultural priority of his ministry.
The minister emphasized that reading is the power that opens the path to a nation’s intellectual freedom and progress. He affirmed that the government is committed to providing every possible support to foster a reading culture, research and literary activities across the country.
Mr Khichi praised the National Book Foundation’s reading festival as a proud initiative that strengthens young people’s relationship with books. He noted that initiatives like this Book Festival play an important role in encouraging youth participation in literary and cultural life.
According to the minister, societies that maintain strong ties with books are better equipped to confront the challenges of the times, and continued investment in events such as the Book Festival will help sustain intellectual growth and cultural resilience.
