Advancing IPC training in Lahore teaching hospitals
The collaborative infection prevention initiative led by the Specialized Healthcare & Medical Education Department, Punjab, in partnership with the National Institute of Health Islamabad, is moving forward across Lahore’s major teaching hospitals to strengthen IPC training and patient safety.
Last week, five-day cascade trainings concluded at the Punjab Institute of Neurosciences and the Government Teaching Hospital Shahdara, Lahore. Led by provincial IPC master trainers, the sessions focused on enhancing infection prevention competencies, reinforcing standard and transmission-based precautions, and promoting safer practices in high-risk clinical areas.
The programme acknowledged the guidance and leadership of the Provincial IPC Focal Person and the seamless coordination ensured by the Provincial IPC Coordinator. The training also benefited from the support of Medical Superintendents and hospital administrations, and the dedication of master trainers and participants who worked to elevate IPC standards across Lahore.
