Rescue 1122 Returns Rs 6.2 Million to Family
A Rescue 1122 team in Gujjar Khan recovered a large sum of money and personal belongings from the scene of a traffic accident and ensured their safe return to the victims’ family after full verification.
According to Media Coordinator Muhammad Usman, an emergency call was received reporting a collision near Gilianah Mor. Rescue 1122 staff reached the site promptly and found a car that had struck a pavement, leaving two occupants severely injured and semi-conscious. The team administered initial medical aid to stabilise the injured before transport to hospital.
While assisting the victims, rescuers located cash amounting to PKR 6,216,550 along with three mobile phones and a wallet. The Rescue 1122 crew took custody of the items, secured them at the station and kept detailed records to preserve the chain of custody.
The in-charge of Tehsil Rescue Station Gujjar Khan, RSO Owais Saeed, coordinated contact with the victims’ relatives and informed them about both the accident and the recovered property. The family travelled from Swat the following day to complete identity checks and required verification.
After all confirmations were made, the full amount of PKR 6,216,550 and the recovered possessions were handed back to the family. The relatives expressed gratitude to the Rescue 1122 staff for their honesty and prompt action, citing the organisation’s training and discipline.
District Emergency Officer Engineer Subghatullah praised the team’s conduct and announced plans to award a certificate of recognition. Local community leaders also hailed the response as a model of public service and integrity by a government emergency agency.
