CPSP Visit Strengthens Training and Research

The CPSP visit to the Regional Centre Lahore was led by President Professor Khalid Masood Gondal, who observed the clinical examination for FCPS Oral Maxillofacial Surgery and met visiting examiners representing all provinces of Pakistan.

Professor Gondal delivered a concise lecture to trainees attending CPSP workshops covering Introduction to Computers, Information Technology & Artificial Intelligence, and Basic Surgical Skills. He also addressed participants of Supervisory Workshops on Education Planning & Evaluation and Assessment of Competence, highlighting practical steps for improving training and supervision.

During his interaction with trainees and faculty he updated attendees on recent national and international achievements of the College and commended the contributions of the College Council, supervisors, fellows and trainees in advancing academic goals. Participants expressed strong support for the decision to make mandatory Research Publication a fellowship requirement, recognising its importance in elevating clinical research culture across training programmes.

Attendees welcomed the College policy of involving international examiners in assessments as a means to align standards with global practice. The CPSP visit reinforced the leadership’s commitment to strengthening medical education, research and clinical assessment in Pakistan through focused training and international engagement.
