Punjab FCDO Development Talk Drives Action

A preparatory session at the P&D Board in Lahore was chaired by Chief Economist Mr. Masood Anwar to review departmental inputs ahead of the first Development Talk between the P&D Board Punjab and FCDO. Senior representatives from Agriculture, LG&CD, Irrigation, Health, Industries & Commerce, SD&ED, School Education, PRMP and PDMA joined the meeting to align proposals and refine collaborative priorities.

Discussion centred on driving economic growth through skills development, promoting agri-exports, strengthening flood rehabilitation and early warning systems, and designing targeted capacity-building interventions. Departments exchanged concrete project ideas and timelines so that the P&D Board can present coordinated proposals to the FCDO.

Participants emphasised that Punjab FCDO cooperation should focus on measurable outcomes such as workforce upskilling, improved market access for farmers, faster rehabilitation in flood-affected areas and enhanced institutional readiness. The session aimed to consolidate actionable proposals that support Punjab’s development vision and enable focused strategic cooperation with the UK’s FCDO.
