Rawalpindi Police Strengthen Women Protection Efforts

District Women Protection Officer Rizwana Bashir visited Rawalpindi Police Lines headquarters as part of the ongoing 16-day campaign against gender-based violence and was received by DSP Admin Shahida Yasmin and senior officers for a dedicated training workshop.

The delegation was briefed on Rawalpindi Police operational working, recent reforms and the feedback system designed to improve service delivery and strengthen women protection across the district.

DSP Admin Shahida Yasmin emphasized that Rawalpindi Police follow a zero tolerance policy against violence, rape and exploitation. She highlighted that in any complaint citizens can obtain immediate assistance through the 15 emergency helpline, the Virtual Women Police Station, the Protection Centre and women contact police stations.

Rizwana Bashir commended Rawalpindi Police for their performance in tackling violence and exploitation of women, noting that the work aligns with the Chief Minister Punjab’s vision to prioritise the protection of women, children and vulnerable groups, a point reiterated by the Rawalpindi Police spokesperson.

The meeting underscored continued cooperation between the District Women Protection Office and Rawalpindi Police to enhance women protection measures and ensure prompt response during the 16-day activism period and beyond.
