AASC Pakistan Launches Lahore Chapter to Groom Youth
Asian American Sports Club has formally opened its Lahore chapter, announcing a nationwide programme to identify talented athletes, provide professional training, and create international pathways for Pakistani youth. The move marks a major step for AASC Pakistan as it seeks to blend sporting development with academic support and mentorship.
At a media briefing Chairman Sid Siddiqui, who travelled from New York, spoke alongside President Aamir Rasool and Mian Usman of Urban Developers about the club’s regional ambitions. Siddiqui said, “Our mission is simple, identify deserving Pakistani athletes, train them professionally, support them academically, and prepare them for global success,” and stressed that communities overseas are ready to contribute through structured, sustainable programmes under the AASC Pakistan banner.
The organisation announced plans to expand across South Asia through affiliations with institutions in China, India, the UAE, Bangladesh and other countries, aiming to raise standards in sport, education, health and youth development. These partnerships are intended to deliver international exposure and training opportunities for promising athletes from Pakistan.
Central Park Lahore has been named the first formal affiliate of AASC in Pakistan and will provide its sporting infrastructure for training camps, athlete development programmes and future international events. Mian Usman noted that seventeen modern sports facilities have already been inaugurated at Central Park and outlined a Vision 2030 plan to transform the site into a premier Sports City. He added that with AASC’s global expertise Central Park will groom future stars, sponsor deserving players and send them abroad for higher-level training.
AASC Pakistan confirmed active development in tennis, cricket, snooker, badminton, arm wrestling, kabaddi, padel tennis and pickleball, and said it will stage international tennis and multi-sport events next year alongside long-term training camps. The club also pledged scholarships, academic assistance, mentorship and social support to deserving athletes as part of a holistic talent-development approach.
Leadership for the Pakistan and tennis chapters was announced, with Usman Anwar of Urban Developers named as head of the AASC Pakistan chapter and Sania Naeem and Musa Haroon serving as vice presidents. Imran Ahmad Siddiqui and Khalid Siddique will hold senior posts within the chapter while Faisal Khan will lead the arm wrestling division. Faisal Khan said AASC approached local organisers after recent arm wrestling events saw participation of over 4,000 people, and confirmed that under Vision 2026 the “Fakhre Pakistan Open Challenge” will be hosted at Central Park with a full training camp and strong female participation.
With AASC Pakistan’s arrival, Central Park’s infrastructure and the involvement of overseas Pakistanis, Lahore is positioned to become a dynamic hub for youth development and regional sports excellence, offering clear pathways for athletes to progress from local programmes to international competition.
