Boosting Workplace Wellbeing at Belgian Embassy
The Belgian Embassy in Islamabad held a dedicated wellbeing workshop for its mission staff to strengthen workplace wellbeing and promote mental resilience. The event reflected the embassy’s wider commitment to caring for employees across cultures and encouraged staff to consider practical ways to support one another at work.
The session opened with an insightful talk on understanding and managing anxiety that offered clear strategies for recognizing stress and seeking support. A gentle yoga practice followed, giving participants time to slow down, breathe and reconnect with their bodies through simple, accessible exercises suitable for the office.
This initiative was organised in line with Belgium’s national mental health efforts, including the 10 Days of Mental Health in Flanders and Mental Health Week in Brussels and Wallonia, and translated those priorities into a workplace setting in Islamabad. The embassy framed the activities as part of ongoing efforts to normalise conversations about mental health within diplomatic circles and beyond.
By combining awareness, practical coping techniques and a brief physical practice, the event reinforced the view that mental and physical care are mutually important. The embassy hopes such workplace wellbeing measures will inspire other organisations in Islamabad to integrate similar practices into their staff support programmes.
