Rawalpindi Police Launch Kite Crackdown

SHO Pirudhai Ali Hamdani led his team in a targeted operation across Rawalpindi following a secret tip, carrying out a kite crackdown at multiple locations. During the raids police recovered more than 5,000 kite bodies and around 500 reels of chemically coated string commonly used for dangerous kite flying.

According to sources, vendors were illegally selling kites and chemical-coated thread at several sites. The seized material has been taken into custody and formal cases have been registered against those involved in the trade.

The administration emphasised that kite flying remains not only unlawful in many areas but also a serious threat to public safety. Authorities say a zero tolerance policy is being enforced and promised further stringent action in the coming days as part of the ongoing kite crackdown.

Local residents applauded SHO Hamdani and his team for the operation and urged officials to eliminate kite flying and related businesses to safeguard lives and prevent future accidents.
