Allama Iqbal Polo Action Intensifies

The sixth Allama Iqbal Polo Cup moved into full swing at Jinnah Polo Fields as day four produced three gripping matches and decisive results, with FG/Din, PB Polo and BN Polo emerging victorious.

In the opening fixture FG/Din beat Rijas/Sheikhoo 8–5. Raja Mikayial Sami was the standout performer for FG/Din, scoring five goals, while Saqib Khan Khakwani added two and Sheikh Muhammad Farhad contributed one. Rijas/Sheikhoo fought hard but could only reply through Mohib Faisal Shehzad and Mumtaz Abbas Niazi, who scored two goals each, and Raja Samiullah with one.

The second match delivered a nail‑biter as PB Polo edged Team Balochistan 7.5–7. Ahmed Ali Tiwana and Bilal Haye chipped in with three goals apiece for PB Polo and Lt Col (R) Omer Minhas added one crucial goal. Team Balochistan finished strongly thanks to Marcos Rivarola’s four goals and Omar Asjad Malhi’s three strikes, pushing the game to a tense finish.

BN Polo produced a dramatic finale, defeating Master Paints 8–7 after sudden‑death in the fifth chukker. Hamza Mawaz Khan spearheaded the BN Polo attack with an outstanding six‑goal display while Ibrahim Khalil scored two. Master Paints were powered by Amirreza Behboudi’s five goals, with Chaudhry Fatah and Muhammad Ali Malik contributing one goal each.

The Allama Iqbal Polo tournament, sponsored by Master Paints and held in memory of the late Sufi Haris, attracted a large turnout of spectators and families to the Jinnah Polo Fields. Club Secretary Major (R) Adil Sultan Rao, Master Paints Director Sufi Muhammad Aamir, Sufi Haroon bin Haris and other notable guests were present to witness the high‑quality polo action, underlining the event’s growing appeal in Pakistan’s polo calendar.
