Rawalpindi DEA Mobilizes Flood Relief Funds

Under the leadership of Chief Executive Officer Tariq Mahmood, the Rawalpindi DEA mobilized funds to support families affected by recent floods. Teachers, students, parents, local communities and administrative staff all contributed, resulting in a substantial pool of resources dedicated to immediate relief.

The collected funds were used to purchase rations, essential food items and household supplies to meet urgent needs. The Rawalpindi DEA coordinated procurement to ensure quality and timely delivery, prioritizing families most severely affected by the flooding in southern Punjab.

In the first phase of distribution, relief consignments reached vulnerable households in Multan and Muzaffargarh where families were still recovering from water damage and loss of basic provisions. The assistance focused on food security and immediate household necessities to stabilise affected homes.

In a second phase, additional rations, bedding and clothing were distributed on 20 October 2025 across areas of Gujrat city that bore the brunt of the recent floods. Local teams ensured that supplies reached deserving families promptly, addressing both short-term survival needs and basic comfort during recovery.

Officers and teachers from the Rawalpindi DEA went beyond their professional responsibilities to organise and deliver relief, demonstrating practical compassion and civic duty. Their efforts provided a visible example of how educational institutions can mobilize community resources in times of crisis.

The initiative by Rawalpindi DEA not only alleviated immediate suffering but also strengthened social solidarity and public service values across participating communities, reinforcing a collective commitment to support those most impacted by natural disasters.
