Capital Hospital Adopts Radiology AI with Alibaba

Capital Hospital Islamabad has signed a memorandum of understanding with Alibaba Medical AI to introduce AI-based radiology screening at the hospital, marking a strategic step toward modernising public healthcare services in the capital. The signing ceremony brought together hospital leadership, senior clinicians and representatives from Alibaba Medical AI to finalise the collaboration.

The agreement, supported by the vision of Chairman Capital Development Authority Muhammad Ali Randhawa and under the guidance of CDA Member Administration Talat Mehmood, will integrate Radiology AI tools into the hospital’s radiology department. The technology is expected to assist clinicians by improving image interpretation, strengthening clinical decision making and enabling earlier detection of diseases.

Dr Naeem Taj, Executive Director of Capital Hospital, said the partnership reflects a long-term commitment to bringing advanced digital health solutions to public patients and equipping doctors with reliable diagnostic tools. He added that adopting Radiology AI is a welcome move to raise standards of care and streamline diagnostic workflows so patients benefit from faster, more accurate results.

The Radiology AI solutions will target improvements in diagnostic accuracy, reporting turnaround times and departmental efficiency, while supporting the CDA agenda of digital innovation in public health institutions. Hospital officials said the technology will be phased into routine imaging and screening services to ensure a smooth transition and measurable improvements in patient outcomes.

Officials expect that integrating Alibaba Medical AI capabilities will accelerate diagnostic processes at Capital Hospital and contribute to the broader goal of modernising healthcare delivery in Islamabad, positioning the hospital among the country’s leading healthcare providers in the near term.
