Bannu: An IED blast targeted the official vehicle of SHO Sadar Azam of Police Station Shadi Khel Bettani in the Bettani Sub-Division area near the Rasool Khel check post, within the jurisdiction of Police Station Shadi Khel. The incident occurred while the police vehicle was on patrol on the main road from Shadi Khel to Masti Khel Bettani.
A powerful explosion took place, resulting in the martyrdom of seven police personnel, including the SHO, while one officer was injured.
Those martyred in the blast include SHO Sadar Azam, Constable Shah Bahram (driver), Constable Shah Khalid, Constable Haji Muhammad, Constable Gul Zada, Constable Sakhi Zada, and Namdar. Constable Insafuddin sustained injuries.
The police vehicle was completely destroyed in the explosion. Local police reached the scene immediately after the incident, collected evidence, and shifted the martyrs and the injured to a nearby hospital.
Meanwhile, in another incident in Bannu, the bodies of two unidentified persons were found on Circular Road. According to the police, the bodies were riddled with bullets and they appear to have been killed with firearms.
