Celebrating Pakistan Day in Shellharbour Australia

The Pakistan Day Shellharbour flag ceremony gathered members of the Pakistani community and local officials in Shellharbour, creating a warm, family-focused atmosphere that underscored community ties and cultural pride.

The program was hosted by Ghulam Mustafa Chudhary Chairperson of the Shellharbour Islamic Society with support from Vice Chairperson Altaf Abbasi. Distinguished civic guests included Chris Homer Mayor of Shellharbour and John Davey Councillor, reflecting strong local engagement with the Pakistani community.

Women and children took part in the proceedings, and the gathering emphasized family participation and intergenerational connections, hallmarks of Pakistan Day Shellharbour celebrations that strengthen community bonds overseas.

Chris Homer spoke about the value of multicultural harmony and community engagement, saying, “Shellharbour is proud of its diverse community and events like this showcase the strength that comes from embracing different cultures.” He added, “Celebrations like Pakistan Day not only honour heritage but also help strengthen cultural understanding and friendship between Australia and Pakistan.”

John Davey acknowledged the community’s role in promoting unity, and host Ghulam Mustafa Chudhary expressed gratitude to guests and residents for their participation and support, noting the importance of continued dialogue and collaboration.
