Turkmenistan Delegation Tours Capital Smart City
On May 6, 2026 representatives of the Embassy of Turkmenistan, led by Ambassador A. Movlamov, visited Capital Smart City, Pakistan’s largest smart city project currently under development about 30 minutes from Islamabad.
The delegation received a detailed briefing on the master plan and development concept for Capital Smart City, which is designed to accommodate more than 1.7 million residents and to integrate modern urban planning with scalable infrastructure.
During the familiarization tour the Embassy representatives observed key construction projects and major infrastructure initiatives, including new residential and commercial districts, advanced transportation links, a proposed financial centre, and planned educational and healthcare institutions alongside tourism and recreational facilities such as hotels, exhibition venues and an international-standard golf course.
Special attention was paid to the implementation of smart technologies across the development, with demonstrations of intelligent traffic management systems, digital security solutions and video surveillance networks as well as modern energy and telecommunications infrastructure central to the Capital Smart City vision.
At the conclusion of the visit both sides commended the high standard of solutions being implemented and expressed interest in exploring potential cooperation in urban development and innovative technologies that could strengthen ties and knowledge exchange between Pakistan and Turkmenistan.
