Pakistan SME Exports Gain Boost from NYC Trade Delegation

The Consulate General of Pakistan in New York hosted a high-level trade delegation organized by the Global Trade and Expo Centre, Islamabad, aimed at boosting exports from Pakistani small and medium enterprises to the United States. The delegation, which included entrepreneurs from food processing, footwear, information technology, surgical instruments and beauty products, met with Consul General Aamer Ahmed Atozai to discuss opportunities for market entry, regulatory support and partnership building.

The delegation was composed of SME representatives from diverse sectors seeking to expand into U.S. markets. The visit was arranged by the Global Trade and Expo Centre to foster practical connections between Pakistani exporters and U.S. buyers, industry leaders and trade platforms.

Consul General Aamer Ahmed Atozai welcomed the delegates and reiterated the Consulate’s commitment to helping Pakistani businesses grow their international presence. He highlighted the United States as a key trade partner for Pakistan and stressed that innovation, strategic partnerships and market access are critical to scaling exports.

In remarks to the delegates, the Consul General outlined the U.S. economic landscape and identified niche and high-demand market segments where Pakistani products could gain traction. He urged SMEs to strategically position their brands to respond to evolving U.S. consumer preferences and to focus on quality and differentiation.

The Consulate affirmed its readiness to assist delegates in navigating U.S. regulatory frameworks, facilitating business linkages and connecting them with potential buyers and industry contacts. Officials said the Consulate will continue to support follow-up activities that help converters of interest into concrete commercial opportunities.

The visit forms part of the Consulate’s broader effort to strengthen Pakistan’s export potential and empower SMEs to compete globally. Delegates were encouraged to use the trip to forge strategic partnerships, participate in trade exhibitions and deepen their understanding of the U.S. business ecosystem.
