Empowering Inquiry Committees for Safer Workplaces
A focused training session brought together senior professionals from Mari Engineering, OGDCL and OGTI to build capacity in Inquiry Committees and reinforce fair workplace practices. The program covered legal procedures and evidence standards designed to improve the reliability and transparency of internal investigations.
The curriculum emphasized committee formation and role clarity, ensuring members understand how to document findings, assess evidence and make impartial recommendations. FOSPAH led discussions on institutional responsibilities and survivor-centered approaches, while participants reviewed mechanisms to detect and deter retaliation and address false complaints with due process.
Delivered in collaboration with PIP, the session aimed to harmonize policies across public and private institutions so investigations align with accepted standards of fairness and accountability. Senior attendees exchanged practical insights on enforcing the code of conduct and strengthening reporting channels to protect employees and uphold organisational integrity.
By enhancing the skills and authority of Inquiry Committees, the training reinforced the role these bodies play as the cornerstone of safe, transparent and harassment-free workplaces, and highlighted the need for ongoing training and institutional support to sustain these reforms.
