Representing Pakistan at Lindau Meeting

Two graduates from the Pakistan Institute of Development Economics represented Pakistan at the 8th Lindau Meeting on Economic Sciences, held 26–30 August 2025 in Germany. Their presence placed Pakistani research and public policy perspectives alongside Nobel Laureates and emerging economists from around the world.

The Lindau Meeting brings together Nobel laureates and top young economists to exchange ideas and shape practical responses to global challenges. Participation in the Lindau Meeting offered rare opportunities for rigorous dialogue, interdisciplinary collaboration and exposure to leading research trends in economic sciences.

Dr. Muhammad Hassam Shahid PhD Economics, PIDE and Ana Khattak Deputy Director, State Bank of Pakistan; MPhil Public Policy, PIDE carried Pakistan’s representation, engaging in panels and discussions that linked academic analysis with policy priorities.

Their involvement underscores the growing contribution of Pakistani institutions to international economic debates and creates pathways for knowledge exchange that can inform domestic research and policymaking. Insights gathered at the Lindau Meeting are expected to enrich both PIDE’s academic work and SBP’s policy thinking.
