Police Champion Mas-Wrestling with New Patron

Muhammad Kamran Khan, Additional Inspector General of Police (Addl IGP) South, has been appointed as the first patron of Pakistan Police Mas-Wrestling. The announcement by Nawab Furqan Khan, President of the Pakistan Mass Wrestling Federation and Chief Sports Officer at the Pakistan Police Sports Board, provides formal institutional support for the sport within law enforcement.

The new patronage is expected to inspire police athletes and integrate Mas-Wrestling into training and competition structures across the force. With Addl IGP South lending his leadership, Mas-Wrestling programmes are likely to gain greater visibility in drills, inter-department contests and athlete development initiatives that emphasise strength, endurance and teamwork.

This move recognises Mas-Wrestling as a traditional strength sport that embodies power, resilience and national pride. Pakistan Police’s endorsement signals a commitment to promoting physical fitness, discipline and unity among officers while encouraging wider participation at the grassroots and provincial levels.

Officials say the appointment opens a new chapter for strength sports within the police, aligning with the Pakistan Police Sports Board’s efforts to support emerging disciplines. The backing of Mas-Wrestling under a senior police patron aims to build mental and physical resilience among personnel and to create pathways for talent development across the country.
