KSrelief Expands Livestock Empowerment in KP
The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief) has completed the first phase of a livestock empowerment project in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, delivering targeted livelihood support to 1,000 vulnerable households across Lower Chitral, Upper Chitral, Lower Dir and Upper Dir.
Each beneficiary household received two vaccinated goats, four bags of silage and practical training provided by the Livestock Department to enable sustainable livestock-based income generation. The phase was implemented by the Peach and Development Organization in collaboration with the Relief, Rehabilitation and Settlement Department (RRSD) and PDMA Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, reaching a total of 7,250 individuals.
Building on early results, KSrelief is preparing Phase 2 and Phase 3 to broaden livestock empowerment across additional districts. Phase 2 will focus on Swat, Swabi, Haripur and Mansehra where families will receive poultry packages of 25 birds per household, complete poultry kits and training on poultry management and income generation. Phase 3 will support families in Charsadda, Mardan and Nowshera with cattle, silage and hands-on training in animal care and dairy production.
By combining livestock inputs with technical training and coordination with provincial agencies, the initiative aims to strengthen economic resilience, improve household nutrition and promote long-term self-reliance in rural communities across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Continued monitoring and local partnerships are expected to help sustain the gains from this livestock empowerment programme and expand opportunities for income and food security.
