Boosting Schlumberger Pakistan Energy Drive

Ambassador Nicolas Galey, accompanied by Economic Counsellor Laurent Chopiton, visited Schlumberger Pakistan’s Islamabad premises to explore cooperation on digital transformation and energy transition and to engage with local teams on industry priorities.

Although a global leader, Schlumberger traces its origins to France and retains close links through its global R&D centre in Clamart, underscoring France’s strength as an engineering hub and a strategic partner for Pakistani industry.

In Pakistan, Schlumberger Pakistan recently celebrated its 75th anniversary and now offers a full portfolio across Oil & Gas, Digital Solutions and New Energy, including energy storage, bioenergy, geothermal, geoenergy, CCS, hydrogen and lithium — capabilities that can support Pakistan’s evolving energy mix.

The company provides state of the art services to major local players such as OGDC and Pakistan Petroleum Limited, and the visit included an in-depth session with Schlumberger teams on the impact of digital transformation in the energy sector and on mining opportunities within Pakistan.

Participants also discussed the importance of the French language and study and career prospects in France for Pakistani engineers, reflecting shared priorities in skills development. The Ambassador thanked Schlumberger’s CEO and the Islamabad team for their hospitality and for commitments to energy transition and CSR that align with French economic diplomacy.
