Driving AI Adoption Across Pakistan
At the AI X Future Summit 2025 held at Bahria University in Islamabad on December 18, 2025, Parliamentary Secretary for Information & Broadcasting, Barrister Danyal Chaudhry, urged rapid and strategic AI adoption to accelerate national development and modernise public services.
Chaudhry described AI as a “defining force of the present” and said Pakistan must move beyond experimentation to practical deployment. He stressed that deliberate AI adoption across government and media can reshape economic opportunities and improve service delivery for citizens.
The Parliamentary Secretary highlighted the government’s commitment under the National Economic Transformation Plan (Uraan Pakistan 2024–2029) to embed digital innovation and technology-driven governance. Officials and stakeholders were encouraged to align policy, education and investment to ensure AI adoption supports inclusive growth and institutional efficiency.
On media and information ecosystems, Chaudhry noted the dual role of technology: “AI holds vital promise for achieving transparency, efficiency, and inclusivity in public institutions, particularly in information dissemination, media regulation, and citizen engagement.” He also called for ethical frameworks and cross-sector collaboration to address misinformation and strengthen public trust as AI adoption advances.
The summit convened educators, policymakers, media professionals and students to explore the intersection of AI, governance and media. Participants emphasised coordinated action to translate ideas into responsible AI adoption that benefits Pakistan’s economy and democratic discourse.
