CDL Karachi Secures WHO Prequalification

The Central Drug Testing Laboratory (CDL) in Karachi has formally obtained WHO prequalification for medicine testing, a move that confirms its capability to assess therapeutic products against international standards.

Under the Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan, adherence to WHO benchmarks reassures patients and health professionals that the medicines they depend on are tested with recognised accuracy and integrity. This validation advances DRAP’s work to align national testing with global expectations and raises confidence in local quality control processes.

DRAP CEO Dr. Ubaidullah congratulated the CDL team, describing the achievement as an important step toward strengthening the national regulatory system. The accreditation also supports the credibility of Made in Pakistan pharmaceuticals by ensuring their testing meets international norms and principled oversight.
