Punjab Secures Wheat Supply with New Monitoring

Punjab has announced abundant wheat availability this year after recording more than 22 million metric tons of production, assuring consumers and markets of a secure supply. The Chief Minister said Alhamdulillah that wheat is available in ample quantity across the province and described the steps as part of a modern governance push to safeguard food security.

The government has launched a live digital dashboard to monitor every grain of wheat, providing real-time visibility on demand, supply, stock levels and price movements. Officials say the dashboard will strengthen day-to-day monitoring and support policy decisions aimed at stabilizing the Wheat Supply across Punjab.

A legal framework has been approved to allow licensed aggregators and stockists to store wheat provided they officially declare their inventories. The Chief Minister warned that those who fail to declare stocks within two weeks will face strict action under the Anti-Hoarding Act, while incentives will be offered to aggregators who report honestly to encourage transparency and fair trade.

In a high-level meeting on agriculture, food safety and consumer protection, the Chief Minister directed relevant departments to ensure stable wheat prices and the availability of affordable flour for the public. She ordered a comprehensive overhaul of the Food Department in line with modern governance standards and emphasized that every grain will be protected to ensure fair pricing of bread and flour across the province.
