Pakistan to Host Two Major Commonwealth Handball Championships in 2025

Pakistan has been awarded the hosting rights for two significant Commonwealth handball tournaments, a major milestone for the Pakistan Handball Federation (PHF).

CHA confirmed that Pakistan will host the inaugural Commonwealth Men’s Senior Beach Handball Championship and the 1st Commonwealth Universities Women’s Handball Championship next year.

According to the details, the Men’s Beach Handball Championship is set to take place in Karachi, with specific dates yet to be announced.

The CHA has begun distributing invitation forms to the presidents and general secretaries of Commonwealth member federations, requesting confirmation of their teams’ participation by November 15, 2024.

Each participating team will comprise 10 players, along with a head of delegation, a coach, an assistant coach, and a manager or physiotherapist.

In addition, the 1st Commonwealth Universities Women’s Handball Championship is scheduled for the month of April 2025 in Faisalabad.

According to the CHA’s mission statement, this event aims to foster unity, sportsmanship, and camaraderie among the participating Commonwealth nations.

For the Universities Women’s Championship, teams must be affiliated with national university sports federations, and players should either be current students or graduates from the past year. Teams will need to provide proof of university affiliation and player eligibility.
