Primakov Readings 2025 Highlights Pakistani Perspective

Ambassador Sohail Mahmood, Director General of the Institute of Strategic Studies Islamabad (ISSI), participated in the “Primakov Readings 2025” International Dialogue Forum, hosted by the Institute of World Economy and International Relations (IMEMO) in Moscow. The high-level forum gathered policymakers, experts, academics, and practitioners from various regions across the globe to discuss emerging geopolitical trends, security challenges, and international economic dynamics.
Highlighting the significance of the event, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov delivered a comprehensive keynote address. In his speech, Minister Lavrov outlined Russia’s foreign policy vision and priorities, reflecting on the need for strategic adaptability amidst a rapidly changing global landscape.
During the interactive sessions, Ambassador Sohail Mahmood presented Pakistan’s viewpoint on crucial regional and international issues. Addressing the forum attendees, he elaborated on South Asian strategic stability, providing detailed insights into the region’s evolving security architecture and emphasizing Pakistan’s commitment to peaceful resolution of outstanding disputes.
Furthermore, Ambassador Mahmood explored the dynamics surrounding recent conflicts between India and Pakistan. Highlighting steps towards conflict resolution and regional stability, he underscored the importance of dialogue, diplomatic engagement, and confidence-building measures as the foundation for sustainable peace in South Asia.
