Saidpur Village Uplift and Tourism Development Progress

Summary: Muhammad Ali Randhawa, Chairman of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) and Chief Commissioner Islamabad, visited Saidpur Model Village to review ongoing renovation and uplifting projects. He praised the effort, especially the involvement of architecture and horticulture experts from Baku, and emphasized the importance of transforming the village into an internationally recognized tourist and recreational destination. Additionally, authorities successfully conducted an anti-encroachment operation in Margalla Hills National Park, reclaiming 23 kanals of illegally occupied government land.

Chairman CDA and Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Muhammad Ali Randhawa, accompanied by Member Environment Asfandyar Baloch, Director-General Environment, Deputy Director-General Enforcement, Director DMA, and other officials, visited Saidpur Model Village to assess progress on ongoing renovation and uplifting initiatives.

During the visit, Chairman Randhawa received a detailed briefing on the current status of the renovation work being carried out at Saidpur Village. Officials informed him that the uplifting and beautification efforts were progressing at a rapid pace and highlighted the significant technical assistance provided by architectural and horticultural specialists from Baku.

Chairman Randhawa appreciated the collaborative efforts and professional expertise delivered by the architecture and horticulture experts from Baku, expressing optimism that Islamabad would soon become one of the most attractive capitals globally, equipped with modern tourist and recreational amenities. He noted that the renovation work at Saidpur Model Village would significantly enhance the city’s aesthetic appeal and offer citizens a unique entertainment and leisure destination.

In light of the project’s importance, Chairman Randhawa instructed officials and related departments to utilize all available resources effectively, ensuring that Saidpur Village evolves into a state-of-the-art model village that fully complies with international standards. He emphasized timely completion and instructed the authorities to expedite development work to swiftly transform the village into a prominent tourist attraction.

During the briefing, it was also revealed that a successful operation against illegal encroachments within Margalla Hills National Park had resulted in reclaiming 23 kanals of valuable state-owned land. The area’s legal residents appreciated the operation, which involved demolishing 13 unlawfully constructed houses and handing the reclaimed land over to CDA’s Environment Wing. This action aims to preserve the national park’s natural beauty, landscape, and ecological balance.

Chairman Randhawa firmly declared the administration’s resolve to safeguard Islamabad’s natural heritage and beauty, reiterating zero tolerance toward encroachments or illegal land occupancy specifically within Margalla Hills National Park and across the capital. He assured that strict measures would continue to protect the city and its natural landscapes from unauthorized constructions or any other activities harmful to the environment.
