NSTP Appoints Amer Sheikh as Director to Lead Innovation

The National Science & Technology Park (NSTP) at the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) has appointed Mr. Amer Sheikh as its new Director, signaling a significant step in its mission to foster innovation and global partnerships. Mr. Sheikh’s extensive international experience in the information and communications technology (ICT) sector is expected to further strengthen NSTP’s role as a key driver of research, entrepreneurship, and investment in Pakistan.
Amer Sheikh joins NSTP with a distinguished track record, having held leadership positions across the United States, United Kingdom, Middle East, Africa, and South Asia. His career has spanned major organizations such as Etisalat (PTCL), NorthBay Solutions, Motorola, and Sprint Nextel. Known as a senior global techno-commercial leader, Mr. Sheikh possesses a deep understanding of go-to-market strategy, product development, profit and loss management, cloud computing, and quality assurance.
Mr. Sheikh holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Iowa State University and a Master’s degree in the same field from the University of South Alabama, USA. He further enhances his profile with professional certifications as a Project Management Professional (PMP) and Six Sigma Black Belt, reflecting his commitment to both technical excellence and process improvement.
Under his leadership, NSTP aims to amplify its efforts in supporting pioneering research initiatives, nurturing emerging entrepreneurs, and forging robust international linkages. The appointment underscores NSTP’s dedication to positioning Pakistan as a prominent player in the global innovation economy.
