SHARP and Norwegian Embassy Join for Refugee Justice Action

SHARP and the Royal Norwegian Embassy have reaffirmed their joint commitment to advancing justice and humanitarian protection for vulnerable communities, with a particular focus on refugees. During a high-level visit to SHARP’s facilities, both organizations discussed ways to deepen their cooperation on critical issues such as gender-based violence, human trafficking, and judicial support for refugees, especially those from neighboring countries.

The delegation from the Royal Norwegian Embassy, including Ms. Zara Kurtovic (Second Secretary & Special Advisor – Integration) and Mr. Abdur (Second Secretary), was welcomed by SHARP CEO Mr. Mudassar Javed and the program team. The visit began with a comprehensive tour of the Reception Desk Center (RDC), where SHARP representatives outlined their operational framework, security measures, and the organization’s approach to delivering core services for vulnerable groups.

During subsequent discussions, SHARP’s leadership highlighted the organization’s broader protection agenda, underlining its proactive engagement with international partners to address urgent humanitarian challenges. Key topics included strategies to counter gender-based violence and human trafficking, as well as the need to enhance judicial mechanisms that safeguard refugees’ rights.

The parties also exchanged views on SHARP’s advocacy for justice systems that are transparent, inclusive, and grounded in human rights principles. Both the SHARP and Norwegian Embassy teams emphasized the importance of global collaboration to strengthen humanitarian responses and ensure that justice and protection are accessible to all, across borders.

SHARP concluded the meeting by reiterating its dedication to expanding legal aid and outreach services for Afghan refugees. Efforts include mobilizing community activists, operating helplines, and conducting field visits to guarantee timely and inclusive support for those in need.
