Commissioner Peshawar Supports Mohmand Monsoon Plantation Drive

Commissioner Peshawar Riaz Khan Mehsud visited Ghalani Mohmand to participate in the ongoing monsoon plantation campaign, commending the local forest department’s efforts in combating climate change and urging broader interdepartmental cooperation for environmental initiatives.

Accompanied by the heads of various line departments, Commissioner Mehsud planted a sapling as part of the plantation drive. The event was attended by Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) Mohmand, Sub-Divisional Forest Officer (SDFO) Upper Mohmand, and other members of the forest staff, underscoring the importance of collective action in promoting green initiatives.

During the visit, Deputy Commissioner Mohmand provided a briefing on the progress of the monsoon plantation drive, highlighting the targets achieved so far despite facing numerous challenges. The forest department’s dedication was particularly noted, as it continues to meet key afforestation goals under challenging circumstances.

Commissioner Mehsud applauded the commitment demonstrated by the forest department and called on other governmental departments to emulate these efforts. He emphasized the need for departments to collaborate closely with the forest division, particularly in the fight against climate change and the implementation of eco-friendly projects in the region.
