Ethiopian Delegation Leads Plantation Drive in Karachi

A high-level Ethiopian delegation took part in a tree plantation drive at Bagh Ibn-e-Qasim in Karachi, aiming to strengthen ties between Ethiopia and Pakistan through environmental collaboration. The initiative was organized under the “Plant Fraternity” program, highlighting the shared commitment of both countries to environmental sustainability and bilateral friendship.

The plantation drive was organized by the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) and led by Dr. Jemal Beker Abdula, the Ethiopian Ambassador to Pakistan, along with Zubair Ahmed Channa, Secretary of Climate Change for Sindh. Together, they were joined by representatives from the Sindh government, climate experts, members of the business community, youth, academia, media, and civil society.

Participants planted saplings at the city’s landmark park as a symbolic gesture of fraternity and unity between Ethiopia and Pakistan. The event reflected both nations’ commitment to addressing climate change challenges and building cooperation through environmental initiatives.
