Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund Flood Relief Efforts in AJK

The Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund (PPAF), in collaboration with its partner organizations, is carrying out household assessments in flood-affected areas of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) to enable efficient and fair distribution of relief aid to the most vulnerable families.
In Union Council Sena Daman, located in Tehsil and District Hattian, the Hamza Development Foundation is leading efforts to evaluate the extent of damage and assess the urgent needs of local residents. Special attention is being given to women-headed households, widows, individuals with disabilities, and the poorest families, ensuring that assistance targets those most in need.
Meanwhile, in Union Council Kundalshahi of Tehsil Athmuqam, District Neelum, the BERD Foundation is conducting similar assessments. Their teams are on the ground documenting losses and identifying families who have suffered the greatest impact from the recent floods.
The data collected from these assessments will inform where and how food packets, hygiene kits, and other essential non-food items will be distributed. This information will also be used to develop early recovery plans tailored to the specific needs of affected communities.
Throughout the entire process, the PPAF team will work closely with partner organizations and local stakeholders to make sure relief is delivered effectively and reaches those most in need of assistance.
