Japanese Foreign Minister Commendation Awarded to Neveen Syed

The Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced that Ms. Neveen Syed, Chairperson of the Lahore Floritage Sogetsu Study Group, will receive the prestigious Japanese Foreign Minister’s Commendation in recognition of her outstanding contributions to strengthening cultural ties between Japan and Pakistan.

Ms. Syed is being honored for her dedicated efforts in promoting Japanese culture, particularly through the art of Ikebana, the traditional Japanese flower arrangement. Under her leadership, the Lahore Floritage Sogetsu Study Group has offered classes and organized exhibitions in Pakistan, providing many Pakistanis with opportunities to experience and appreciate Japanese artistic traditions.

Japan’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Akamatsu Shuichi, warmly congratulated Ms. Syed on the upcoming commendation, acknowledging her commitment to fostering cultural exchange and closer people-to-people relations between the two countries. He also expressed his hope that she will continue to play a vital role in promoting Ikebana in Pakistan and acting as a bridge of friendship between Japan and Pakistan.

The official commendation will be presented to Ms. Syed at a ceremony to be held in the near future, where Ambassador Akamatsu will formally confer the award on behalf of Japan’s Foreign Minister.
