IBCC Marks 79th Independence Day with Call for Unity and Skills Education

Islamabad, August 14, 2026: The Inter Boards Coordination Commission (IBCC) celebrated Pakistan’s 79th Independence Day at the IBCC Secretariat in Islamabad with national spirit and enthusiasm.

IBCC Executive Director Dr Ghulam Ali Mallah cut the Independence Day cake at the ceremony. Addressing the gathering, he said the protection of the motherland and defence of its sovereignty was a shared responsibility of every Pakistani.

Dr Mallah said the nation must remain united and ready to act as a strong shield against any threat or aggression directed at the country.

Speaking to students, he urged them to strive for excellence through hard work, discipline, dedication and determination. He said Pakistan’s future was linked to an educated, skilled and responsible youth.

He also underlined the importance of skills-based education, saying students must be equipped with practical and market-oriented skills. Such education, he said, was essential for improving employability, encouraging innovation and strengthening the national economy.

Dr Mallah called upon students to contribute to Pakistan’s development and prosperity by making education, skills and hard work the foundation of their future.

The ceremony concluded with a renewed pledge to uphold the spirit of independence, national unity and service to the country.
