Strengthening Pakistan Belarus Parliamentary Ties
The Pakistan–Belarus Parliamentary Friendship Group held its inaugural briefing at Parliament House in Islamabad on 10 December 2025, with Ms. Natasha Daultana, MNA, serving as convener. Pakistan’s Ambassador to Belarus, Mr. Muhemmed Aejaz, joined the session virtually and outlined recent advances in bilateral engagement.
In opening remarks the convener stressed the need for a structured and sustained parliamentary approach to deepen Pakistan Belarus ties, urging continuous interaction and closer coordination with relevant ministries. She emphasised that parliamentary follow-up is essential to translate diplomatic progress into practical projects for both countries.
Ambassador Muhemmed Aejaz highlighted a marked improvement in relations over the past year, pointing to stronger diplomatic exchanges and tangible gains in trade, industry and government-to-government cooperation. He also drew attention to key areas where Pakistan and Belarus can expand collaboration, including labour mobility, regional connectivity and industrial and technical partnerships.
Members discussed concrete avenues to enhance cooperation in education and academic exchanges, including scholarships and institutional linkages. Business-to-business engagement, opportunities in agriculture and machinery, and the role of smart technologies in industrial modernisation were identified as priority areas where focused parliamentary support could unlock new ties.
Participants underscored the importance of strengthening people-to-people contacts and practical measures to ease labour mobility while addressing regional connectivity challenges. The Group agreed on the need for proactive parliamentary diplomacy to shepherd initiatives from discussion to implementation.
The meeting brought together Members of the Pakistan–Belarus PFG including Mr. Mohammad Usman Badini, Ms. Kiran Imran Dar, Mr. Ali Jan Mazari, Mr. Abdul Aleem Khan, Nawabzada Mir Jamal Khan Raisani, Mr. Naveed Aamir and Ms. Shamaila Rana, who committed to sustained follow-up and improved coordination to advance Pakistan Belarus ties.
