The Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA), in partnership with the Pakistan Cultural Forum and the Directorate of Ideology Pakistan, hosted a vibrant Independence Day celebration in Islamabad. The event showcased Pakistan’s diverse cultural heritage through an array of artistic performances and brought together a broad audience in a show of national unity and pride.
The celebration featured performances by acclaimed artists and groups, including Haris Bazmi Group, Raasta Band, Raheel Mustafa, Liya Faras, Humaira Younis, and the Khushk Group, among others. These performances highlighted the rich tapestry of Pakistani music and art, reflecting both traditional and contemporary influences.
A special highlight of the event was an address by chief guest Ms. Farah Naz, a member of the National Assembly. In her speech, she emphasized the significance of the country’s journey towards independence, the sacrifices made along the way, and the enduring resilience of its people. Ms. Naz praised the role of the arts in fostering unity and strengthening national identity. She also expressed gratitude for the nation’s hard-earned freedom and acknowledged the vital contributions of Pakistan’s armed forces in protecting the country and upholding its honor internationally. She called upon all Pakistanis to uphold the spirit of unity, sacrifice, and patriotism.
The evening included a cake-cutting ceremony and a photo session, with participation from distinguished guests and performers, adding to the festive atmosphere.
