University Launches E-File System for Smart Campus

Pir Mehr Ali Shah Arid Agriculture University Rawalpindi (PMAS-AAUR) inaugurated a new E-File Management System in a campus ceremony led by the Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Qamar-uz-Zaman. The launch marks a notable step in the university’s push toward a digital administrative environment and smart campus operations.

The Vice Chancellor said the E-File System reflects a long-term vision for institutional modernization and digital transformation, noting that leading universities worldwide are moving to paperless governance to improve efficiency, transparency, inclusivity and environmental responsibility. He added that this initiative aligns PMAS-AAUR with international best practices and positions the university on a progressive path.

The Vice Chancellor emphasized that the E-File System is more than a technological upgrade; it is a strategic reform designed to strengthen governance, speed decision-making and enhance service delivery for faculty, staff and students. He highlighted the sustainability benefits, underlining reduced paper consumption as part of the university’s wider commitment to responsible operations.

Speaking at the event, Director IT Services Dr. Nadeem A. Malik said the Directorate is working to transform campus administration through modern digital solutions. He noted the E-File initiative, launched under the Vice Chancellor’s vision, will improve employee performance, save time and manpower and deliver significant cost savings for the university.

Dr. Malik added that the E-File System will enhance transparency, minimize paperwork and strengthen institutional efficiency, paving the way for a technology-driven and sustainable administrative environment at PMAS-AAUR. The move is expected to streamline approvals and record-keeping across departments as the university adopts digital workflows.
