Ishaq Dar Travels to New York for UNGA
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar arrived in New York to attend the high-level segment of the 80th Session of the UN General Assembly, scheduled from 22 to 26 September 2025. The Pakistan delegation will be led by the Prime Minister.
On arrival, Ishaq Dar was received by Ambassador Asim Iftikhar Ahmad, Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Ambassador Rizwan Saeed Shiekh, Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United States, and senior officials of the mission. The reception underlined the coordinated diplomatic effort ahead of the UNGA engagements.
Ishaq Dar will have a busy programme in New York. Besides accompanying the Prime Minister to several engagements, he will represent Pakistan at numerous ministerial and high-level meetings and is scheduled to hold more than a dozen bilateral meetings with his counterparts to advance Pakistan’s foreign policy priorities.
The visit is expected to provide opportunities to strengthen bilateral ties and articulate Pakistan’s positions on key global issues during the UNGA high-level segment, reflecting Islamabad’s commitment to active multilateral diplomacy.
