The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) recently welcomed senior professionals from the 15th National Media Workshop (NMW) of the National Defence University (NDU) for an informative visit to the National Emergency Operations Centre (NEOC). This visit was organized to provide media representatives, influencers, and public sector officials with an inside look at Pakistan’s disaster management infrastructure.
During their tour, the delegation received an in-depth briefing on NEOC’s operational systems and the centre’s critical role in disaster preparedness and response. The session explained how NEOC uses advanced technology and real-time monitoring tools to track disasters as they unfold. Officials also detailed the national coordination mechanisms that ensure different agencies can work together effectively during emergencies.
The briefing emphasized the use of data-driven decision-making at NEOC, highlighting how timely and accurate information plays a vital role in managing disasters efficiently.
