Rawalpindi Police Intensify Crackdown on Dealers
Rawalpindi Police have launched a focused enforcement drive in the Sadiqabad area, acting on rising public complaints and a clear directive from senior leadership. The operation, designed under the strategy of the SP and driven by the city commander’s vision, deploys a specialized team to dismantle drug supply lines and target organised criminal elements.
The unit formed under SHO Sadiqabad Sajad Khan includes experienced officers such as ASI Tariq Mahmood, ASI Junaid Waqas and Constable Tajdar. Sources say the team has already detained multiple suspects and expanded investigations by taking several other individuals into custody for questioning. The methodical approach aims to disrupt networks rather than offering short-term arrests.
Authorities report that the crackdown has unsettled criminal facilitators who, according to verified information, have been attempting to undermine police actions through political influence, recommendations and alleged financial dealings. Despite these attempts to derail operations, Rawalpindi Police officials remain determined to continue their work without yielding to external pressure.
Local residents have welcomed the targeted campaigns and urged the leadership to sustain and intensify efforts so that youth are shielded from the scourge of drugs and neighbourhoods are freed from criminal control. Citizens told reporters that the visible police presence and systematic probes have already improved feelings of safety in affected streets.
Officials stress that the campaign represents more than isolated raids: it is part of a broader enforcement posture focused on the long-term disruption of narcotics networks and the removal of their facilitators. The Rawalpindi Police say they will press forward with investigations and arrests as needed to restore law and order and safeguard the community.
