Pakistan Parliament Completes 78 Years of Democratic Progress

The Parliamentary Reporters Association (PRA) Pakistan has paid tribute to the nation’s founding leaders and champions of democracy on the 78th anniversary of Pakistan’s Parliament. In a public statement, the PRA recognized the original lawmakers for establishing a legislative body that reflects the founders’ commitment to democratic values and public representation. The Association noted that what began as a modest legislative assembly has now grown into a robust institution at the heart of Pakistan’s democracy.

PRA President Usman Khan, Secretary Naveed Akbar, and other officials emphasized that the supremacy of the Constitution and Parliament is essential for national progress, prosperity, and unity. They described Parliament as the representative voice of Pakistan’s 250 million citizens and affirmed the importance of ongoing initiatives aimed at involving youth in the parliamentary process.

The PRA further stressed that sustained political stability and the continuity of the parliamentary system are vital for national development. The association reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining professionalism through transparent, impartial, and timely reporting of parliamentary affairs. By upholding these journalistic standards, the PRA aims to continue supporting and strengthening the country’s democratic institutions.
