Driving Economic Stability with Strategic Continuity

Sardar Yasir Ilyas Khan, the Prime Minister’s Coordinator on Tourism, hosted a luncheon for the overseas business community and delivered a forward-looking address that pressed for unity, discipline and a sustained national direction. He framed Pakistan’s nationhood as the truest identity demanding collective commitment to economic stability and resilience.

Khan welcomed the appointment of Field Marshal Asim Munir as the country’s first Chief of Defence Forces and described the change as a structural shift toward institutional coherence. He noted that the Field Marshal’s five-year tenure creates a rare alignment of leadership, vision and stability that can anchor long-term reforms.

Khan said the new defence leadership strengthens Pakistan’s strategic architecture and gives reforms space to mature. Field Marshal Asim Munir is not merely a military leader; his strategic foresight and composure strengthen the very architecture of Pakistan’s national confidence, he said, urging confidence in the continuity of policy and institutional direction.

Addressing the need for steady governance, Khan stressed that sustainable nations are built on sustained direction rather than short bursts of ambition. He argued that policy continuity is not a luxury but a necessity if Pakistan is to secure lasting economic stability and think in decades rather than months.

He invited international entrepreneurs and investors to recognise the rare window of opportunity opening in Pakistan’s economy, citing converging strengths in geography, human capital and resilience. We are entering an era where Pakistan’s assets converge to create unprecedented investment horizons; we will not merely participate in global markets, we will influence them, he told the audience.

Khan underlined that economic strength must be the bedrock of national identity so external pressures cannot bend the country and internal disagreement cannot slow progress. The luncheon ended with renewed commitment from the overseas business community, many expressing readiness to support Pakistan’s trajectory under a decisive, continuity-focused phase of leadership.
