Builders Association and ICCI Discuss Mutual Cooperation and Challenges

**Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Builders Association Pledge Collaboration to Address Sector Challenges**

A high-level meeting took place between the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) and a delegation from the Builders Association, with leaders from both sides expressing their commitment to strengthening cooperation and resolving key issues facing the construction sector. The discussions focused on overcoming regulatory obstacles and improving the overall business environment for builders and developers.

During the visit to the Chamber House, Sardar Khurshid Ahmed Khan, President of the Builders Association, led his delegation in discussions with ICCI’s President Nasir Mansoor Qureshi and the Chamber’s leadership. President Qureshi reaffirmed the business community’s steadfast commitment to national development, noting that despite various challenges, entrepreneurs remain resolute in their dedication to the country. He emphasized ICCI’s ongoing role as an advocate for private sector interests, acting as a vital bridge between businesses and the government to facilitate economic progress and ease of doing business.

President Qureshi assured the visiting delegation that the ICCI would actively engage relevant authorities, including the Capital Development Authority (CDA), to address the specific concerns highlighted by the builders’ community. He pledged to work towards timely resolution of these issues, aiming to create a more supportive and efficient environment for the sector.

Highlighting the sector’s concerns, Sardar Khurshid Ahmed Khan explained the pressing challenges faced by builders, particularly those related to regulatory processes with the CDA. He reiterated the Builders Association’s commitment to fully comply with all standard operating procedures and to cooperate constructively with the CDA, supporting transparent and streamlined operations in the sector.

The meeting also featured remarks from ICCI Senior Vice President Abdul Rehman Siddiqui and Vice President Nasir Mehmood Chaudhry, who outlined several recent initiatives undertaken by the ICCI to facilitate and support the business community. They assured the delegation of ICCI’s ongoing efforts to represent the interests of builders and developers effectively.

The Builders Association’s delegation included prominent members Basharat Gujjar, Gulfraz, Aftab Kazmi, Malik Changeez, Malik Shahbaz, and Yousuf Khattak. ICCI Executive Member Aftab Ahmed Gujjar was also present to lend his support.

The joint commitment by ICCI and the Builders Association reflects a proactive approach to collaboration, aiming to resolve industry challenges and contribute to the nation’s economic development.
