Pakistan Sri Lanka Maritime Collaboration Advances at NIMA

A Sri Lankan High Commission delegation, led by Rear Admiral Fred Seneviratne and Deputy High Commissioner Christy Ruban Augustin, visited the National Institute of Maritime Affairs (NIMA) to explore opportunities for enhanced maritime cooperation between Sri Lanka and Pakistan.
The Sri Lankan representatives were warmly received at NIMA, where they were provided an overview of the Institute’s mission and activities. Discussions during the briefing centered on expanding collaboration through joint research projects, academic conferences, seminars, and exchange programs between the two countries’ maritime sectors.
Rear Admiral Seneviratne praised NIMA’s ongoing efforts to promote maritime awareness and research, highlighting the importance of strengthening existing friendly ties. He expressed strong support for deepening maritime cooperation with Pakistan, emphasizing the potential for new initiatives to bolster regional maritime security and foster greater collaboration in various fields.
Both sides conveyed optimism that the enhanced relationship would contribute to sustained maritime security in the region, building upon the longstanding partnership between Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
